I first came to Oak Grove School in 1976 as a 7th grade student, playing basketball for the “visiting team”. Little did I know, almost 40 years later, that this “quaint” school as I first knew it, would grow as my teaching career grew, and where I would eventually be led to! In 1984 I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree from National College of Education in Evanston followed by a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University in 1997. I taught 4th and 6th grade in nearby communities before finding my “home team” in 1997, joining the staff here at Oak Grove School. I am now in my 30th year in the teaching profession (19 of those at OGS) as well as 31 wonderful years of marriage to my husband Jeff. Our children seem to have inherited the love of teaching too. Our son, Tim, graduated from Butler University with a degree in education and now teaches math at Libertyville High School and coaches the freshman baseball team. Our daughter, Taylor, is a senior at Butler University, where she is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. We reside in downtown Libertyville where we can often be spotted walking our Golden Retriever, Wrigley. When not in town you can usually find us at the Chain of Lakes with family and friends, where we all enjoy boating, wakeboarding, jet skiing and swimming-especially Abbey and Wrigley! We also love traveling to new places where we get the opportunity to experience different cultures and lifestyles. We are never too old to learn something new!
